VISIONARY STONE is an exhibition of artistic marble works designed with the use of parametric software and processed entirely with numerical control machines.
The exhibition consists of nine lithic sculptures inspired by the natural forms of the animal and plant kingdom and guided by compositional logics such as symmetry, phyllotaxis, halfway between the fossil record and the stranded exoskeleton of marine animals. A visionary collection that stimulates the debate between natural and artificial, fuelled by a new expressive language in which stone meets the digital world in an antithetical relationship, between materiality and immateriality, between robot and human.
The stones worked in this way, with perceptual, visual and tactile milling of the highest precision, invite the viewer to a physical experience through aesthetic expression of strong attractiveness, and meanings that extend far beyond the mere technical exercise. The works are arranged on three stone display islands, part of the exhibition, grouped in a single space like a small archipelago. Each island, measuring 2.5 x 9 metres, is characterised by a hilly base formed by the layering of machine-shaped stone slabs.
The exhibition is curated and designed by Raffaello Galiotto and realised with the participation of a group of companies of excellence in the processing and production of machinery in the stone sector.
