The fair StoneAfrica, held in Cairo (Egypt) from 23 to 25 October,2025 is a new initiative held in an already overcrowded trade show calender. By trying to represent the African continent it tries to put the vast continent on the stone industry map. The reality, in its first edition, was to act as a showpiece of Egyptian stone industry before the world. There was also significant Turkish presence as exhibitors apart from Chinese presence in the segment of supplies. The organisers hosted about 100 selected buyers, mostly from East Europe and the Gulf countries, both among the most dynamic areas today in the world of construction, so most exhibitors were happy to connect with new clients.

To the surprise of most people, this first edition of the fair was possibly the most dynamic fair of the year with a constant stream of buyers not always seen in trade shows, and a large number of local interior designers.

The overall impression is that, reflecting the tremendous civilisational heritage of Egypt, that ethos has often translated into many companies specialising in artefacts made of stone reflecting that cultural sensitivity, but also applications and designs in tune with the modern trends and fashion.
