Understanding Stone
Rainforest from India
Out of extremely wide range of stones that come from India and which have become popular all over the world, one of them goes by the name of Rainforest. In almost any stone stockyard anywhere in the world one will almost always find at least a few slabs of this attractive sandstone, though in true industry style, the name on the sticker may well be different.
Travertine from Turkey
Turkey, as more and more people are discovering all the time, has vast resources and great variety in natural stone, with deposits spread all over the geographically big country.
The immense world of Crema Marfil
Of the hundreds, indeed, thousands, of different varieties of natural stone that are being extracted, processed and commercialised in the world, there are actually very few materials that have carved out their own brand name and are easily recognisable and whose name is familiar even to those who do not strictly work in the natural stone industry.
Iron Stones: The new Brazilian speciality in the market
In the last decade, Brazil has introduced hundreds of new dimension stones in the market. In fact, the number of Brazilian launches, in such a short period of time, have surpassed those of all Europe over the last two hundred years.
Stone Absolute (By any other name)
Stone terminology is not exactly at the top of the agenda in the stone sector. However, standardization and globalization have increased awareness for communication needs and rapid change is now taken place in priorities.
The Inada Granite, Japanese traditional light grey ornamental rock

Black is beautiful
The boss's bellowing request "get me some plain black granite" may sound reasonable on the telephone. After all, there are few plain uniformly black limestones fit for an exterior facade; uniform black slate has not the strength specified; both tend not to be colourfast and need exacting fading tests because of their essentially carbonaceous or bituminous pigmentation.
Brazilian semi-ornamental rock basalt
Basalt is the commercial name of a family of peculiar volcanic rocks, which takes place specifically in southern region of Brazil, in the States of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. They are applied widely to civil construction in special respects of ornamental use, often for floor, wall, and pavement.
